Sam Armstrong has a background in conservation in Australia and Asia. Most recently, she spent two years based in Bangkok at The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), where she worked as the Regional Coordinator for the Monitoring the Illegal Killing of Elephants Programme within the Species, Science & Strategy Group.

Prior to that, Sam worked within the Victorian Government, including roles as the Victorian Feral Pig Coordinator, Project Officer in the Deer Control Program, and as Biodiversity Recovery Project Officer at Budj Bim Cultural Heritage Landscape. She also has experience in the not-for-profit sector through her role as Executive Officer at the International Ranger Federation (IRF).

Sam holds a Bachelor of Environmental Science (Wildlife & Conservation Biology) and a Graduate Certificate of Sustainable Development & Humanitarian Action – both from Deakin University – and a Diploma in Conservation and Land Management from Swinburne University.
