Sam Armstrong has a background in conservation in Australia and Asia. Most recently, she spent two years based in Bangkok at the International Union Conservation of Nature (IUCN), working as the Regional Coordinator – Monitoring the Illegal Killing of Elephants Programme & Project Coordinator for the Species, Science & Strategy Group.

She has experience in philanthropy through her roles as Executive Officer at the International Ranger Federation (IRF) and The Thin Green Line Foundation.

Sam also has experience working within government at Agriculture Victoria (within the Department of Energy, Environment, and Climate Action) and has held a number of roles at the Department of Environment, Land, Water & Planning, including Victorian Feral Pig Coordinator, Senior Project Officer (Deer Control Program), and Biodiversity Recovery Project Officer at Budj Bim Cultural Landscape.

Sam holds a Bachelor of Environmental Science, Wildlife & Conservation Biology and a Graduate Certificate of Sustainable Development & Humanitarian Action (both from Deakin University) and a Diploma in Conservation & Land Management (Swinburne University).
