KIDS CREATING CHANGE: developing, delivering and evaluating a creative, long-term primary prevention strategy

A grant over 3 years will support Kids Creating Change which aims to help break the cycle of poverty and violence for children at risk by embedding creative strategies for long-term change within their communities through three interconnected arts programs.

Children as Changemakers

Family by Family Australia (FFA) is a family-to-family mentoring program that develops the skills and behaviours families need to thrive, helping them to make changes before they reach crisis point. The aim of this 12 month project is to co-design child led curriculum and resources (and purchase a Play Pod) to be incorporated into the FFA program so that through undirected play and kids coaching, children are more actively engaged in the program in turn producing better outcomes for the participating children involved.

MEDAL: Movement Education supporting Dance and Literacy

This grant will enable Tasdance to deliver an innovative, cross-curricular dance and literacy program in three primary schools in Launceston, reaching approximately 375 students from Prep to Grade 6 over a year.
